Duke vs Hawk, who should be the leader? Hawk was the comic leader, Duke was the cartoon leader. Seems like in terms of 'mattering' Duke won this one as he has many more figures and focus in media efforts. When Hawk was shuffled off to a hospital in the Sigma 6 toon to make way for his son, you could see where he is on the pecking order.
Duke vs Snake Eyes, who gets to date Scarlett? I think with the Snake Eyes movie, we'll get Snake Eyes/Scarlett pairing firmly.
Duke vs Flint, what makes them different? RodZD brought this up from time to time. Duke was more your standard action leader, while the focus with Flint turned to his relationship with Lady Jaye, so sometimes he didn't look completely in a good light if jealously came into play.
Zartan, hair or a cowl? Seems like the toyline(s) has gone firmly with the cowl, so is he bald? There's moments in Sunbow where its clearly moving as if it were hair.
Zartan, uses costumes or holo-tech? Comic on one side, cartoon on another. Recently realized his backpack is a mask generator, so costumes make more logical sense to go along with that, but I think holo-tech is just a shortcut for comic artists.
a more recent one... If we are sticking with the general beats of Snake Eyes' backstory in future iterations of GIJoe, what is the judication for keeping Storm Shadow on the Cobra faction? Other than, you know, marketing reasons.
Anything else I'm forgetting?

Cobra Troopers vs Vipers, different units, same thing? Did Vipers replace troopers? I was of the mind troopers were phased out, but Hasbro decided the coexist in at least some media.
Major Bludd, right arm cybernetic or just armored? No conclusive answer, designer Ron Rudat sort of says both when asked. It wasn't articulated on V1 to keep the detail of the sculpt.
Live action movies answers to yours:
1. Hawk, then Duke, the ROADBLOCK?? Then Colton...sort of? 2. Ripcord, then to hell with both of them. 3. Duke is Channing, Flint is some non-entity that should've been replaced with a better character. 4. NO COWL 5. Shapeshifting NANOMITES!! Also, uniforms, because he's not Mystique. 6. Zzzztorm...Zzzzhadow and Zzzznake-Eyezzz....sooo boring.
and mine 7. No regular Vipers, but Elite Vipers and then NEO-VIPERS. Then troopers that look like (and technically are) US Spec Ops. 8. NO BLUDD. But Firefly is a redneck...played by a Brit.

1) Duke vs Hawk: Hawk is the team the leader. He hands the troops their missions, fills in as needed. Duke died in the 1987 movie.
2) Scarlett was dating Duke before he was killed in action. She hooked up with Snake Eyes after that.
3) Zartan has a mohawk.
4) Zartan Cowl or Hair? Cowl. Always go with the original card art for source material.
5) Zartan costume or holotech? He uses costumes and holotech in both cartoon and comic. He's the "Master of Disguise".
6) Storm Shadow is basically a spy for G.I.JOE. I can't help but laugh whenever they try to make him evil. He seemed like a rational guy in the comic who worked with Hawk, and Jinx was CIA. And he fought most of the time, to do the right thing. The cartoon made him out to be a jerk, but he was a bad guy.
*Edit 7) Vipers are Troopers, just given an update.
8) Major Bludd, card art says armor. Sonic Fighters confirms this as well.

I remember all the OUTRAGE when Devils Due was promoting their upcoming GIJoe comic and some of the promotional art had Major Blood with a cybernetic eye. I thought the Blood was an Amputee who got caught in something bad to lose an arm and an eye as a kid.
Firefly, ninja? Why? WHY?
Road Pig, ninja? Maybe he truly is idiot savant at ninja'ing.
Oh, and what was the deal with Heavy Duty getting exposure in places Roadblock seemed a natural fit?
And the Big Brawler push over Outback...
Cobra Troops, makes sense they were phased out, but Hasbro has action figures to sell, yo!
Live Action Flint/Lady Jaye were embarrassing, very true Bravo. Felt like the CW of GIJoe couples.

I thought Major Blood was an amputee too. But, card art is the true ARAH.
Both Cobra Troopers and Cobra Vipers are used in the opening battle of G.I.JOE the movie.
Firefly had some ninja training, doesn't bother me. Seems like that will look good on his resume.
Road Pig is a Dreadnok, he can play ninja if he wants though.
Outback is really Snow Job.

Since we're diving into ninjas, there is also the Unproduced Budo and Shang T'sung connection to Mortal Kombat.
Did Flint even have any lines in the movie? I just remember the Rock talking about growing up on the streets and Snake Eyes killing like 20 ninjas. Zartan made a better Cobra Commander than Cobra Commander. I guess he can be whoever he wants, so there's that.

I think Lady Jaye's dad didn't want her in the military so her story was getting respect or something. ZZZzZZzzZZz

You mean, Brenda, the Girl Scout? Her actual real name in the movie was Jaye, so much for code names.
The Mouse kid was more memorable than Flint, but Mouse disappears...I guess he dies in the desert with the nobodies and Duke.
Hasbro lost Roadblock's code name for awhile, so after the silly "Double Blast" then they went to using Heavy Duty. Oddly for Sigma Six they kept on with Heavy Duty, maybe because he was used more in "NuSculpt" era. They redid the Tunnel-Rat/Heavy Duty dynamic for RENEGADES but with Roadblock...I think.

Just rewatched MASS Device Mini...
1. How does Cobra's MASS Device work before they stole the government satellite to send the MASS beam? 2. How did Cover Girl know Timber's name? 3. Why is Cover Girl blonde and sounds like a different voice actress? (this is probably one of the biggest differences between the mini and her regular season appearances)

1) The satellite isn't necessary for it to operate, just gives them global coverage. They are able to zap the satellite with the tracking device Baroness activates.
2) Snake Eyes spoke in sign language off screen.
3) Covergirl is a model and changes her hair all the time. Her voice changing...she was going through a phase.

1. What Felix said, except Destro hadn't yet mastered the device and sent troops to get it...which shows incompetence of his part. 2. She read it in the script 3. I think it was always Liz Aubrey, but the characterization changed. 4. Is the blind hermit God? (Yes) 5. For the underwater mission, Duke says don't get your your pressure suits but their faces and hands are exposed underwater. 6. How does Steeler and Short Fuze's killer satellite launch without massive rockets? 7. How come Cobra has air superiority over the Devil's Cauldron but refuses to use it properly? The helicarrier has more proto-rattlers on it and those proto-CLAW things, enough to have overwhelmed the Joes with their copters and 2 Skystrikers. 8. How come Clutch sounds like Gung-Ho and is piloting a copter, then is immediately shown by the copter's side door? (errors are fun) 9. How does Airborne go from bailing out of his Dragonfly to minutes later having a jetpack and assaulting the helicarrier? How could he recovered that fast? 10. How come the nations of the world didn't surrender? DON'T THEY KNOW THEY'RE DEALING WITH DESTRO?

4. I thought he was just a blind old hermit :-) 5. Duke is not a member of the Navy. He was acting like he knew everything. 6. Short Fuse gets used one time, and now it's ruined. ;-) 7. I don't think there's anything that two Skystrikers couldn't handle. 8. I got nothin. 9. Airborne is a total badass. 10. Surprised nobody has ever done a custom of Smuggler Destro (at the very beginning).

Why did the members of the world leadership meet on Tanu Island as instructed when they knew Cobra had a device capable of teleportation?

They are dumb or naive like many modern world leaders. *cough*deals with Iran or North Korea*cough.
12. Why didn't Destro get enough catalytic elements for more than a few beams to begin with? My guess is that he stole the originals or bought them. But then Cobra controls the crystal mine, so why so little of it in stock? And how were the meteorite materials found to begin with since it's inside a volcano? Perhaps the volcano is just a similar meteorite to what was used before? Heavy water can be gotten fairly easily, so we have to assume there's some special property to that heavy water the MASS uses.

My guess is he didn't actually know how much the MASS Device would drain the resources. The other issue is, trying to take out NY City, the population, all those buildings and other 'mass' probably would be a huge strain, whereas teleporting assorted landmarks and small forces would not cost as much.
